It is our great pleasure to announce that the 9th Biennial Conference of IMSEA will be held from March 5–7, 2027, at Kyushu University School of Design, "the Ohashi Campus" in Fukuoka, Japan.
Since the conference will take place at the beginning of spring, participants will also have the opportunity to experience the beauty of the plum blossoms at Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. Long associated with the poet-statesman Sugawara no Michizane and celebrated in classical verse, these blossoms remain a cultural symbol of Fukuoka, inspiring local sweets and souvenirs to this day.
Fukuoka city is approximately a 90-minute flight from Tokyo, a 70-minute flight from Seoul, and about a 3-hour flight from Beijing, with frequent daily connections. The Ohashi Campus is conveniently located—about 10 minutes from Tenjin, 25 minutes from Hakata Station, and 25 minutes from Fukuoka International Airport (FUK).
